that time of the year again
"It was a dark and stormy night. Suddenly two shots rang out!" Well... not so much 'rang out'... more like 'guzzled down' as tequila often is. And it wasn't night, it was more like a sunny autumn morning. A chilly wind whipping through the trees, violently ripping off the leaves from their strong hold and sending them in a silent scream towards the earth. Ah, but they didn't die in vain for they took root and gave birth to the election signs that one finds scattered along the road way. This year looks to be a bumper crop too! Yet in all this peacefulness lies a terror. Beasts that will come forth just after Halloween and utter those terrifying sounds, "Hello, I'm from the government and I'm here to help." Now you understand the need for two shots .... minimum!

Amazing isn't it! We have a gentleman in our neighborhood, who decided that the normal Halloween decor up and down our quiet street was not festive enough for the changing season. Apparently, he is running for political office and when you enter the neighborhood you see a sign to that effect. What puzzles me is that when you get to his end of the street (our neighborhood being a dead end road) he has placed at least three of these signs for his closet neighbors to see. Can we say, overkill? If your neighbors know you, why advertise your candidacy where the rest of the town won't see it? I think this candidate has already had two shots, too many!!!
;) from the bern to the lake ... signs, signs ... everywhere signs ... who are these people and who wants them in office?
