In 2008, you may be able to power your home using a dish that resembles a large satellite dish. Advances in technology and material allows the sun to be focused onto a Sterling engine and generate about 1.3 kilowatts of energy. Even though, this is planned for commercial release in 2008, it will still be more expensive than relying on the power company.
