Business Cards

Share
With all the link exchange that has been going on between posties, I've been thinking about an easier process. There must be a better way than these chain-letter like posts that have become popular - you add your name to a growing list, post it, and then send the list on to your friends to do the same. Unfortunately, Google's page ranking score is partly based on the ratio of incoming to outgoing links. There has go to be a better, quicker, and easier way.

When you go into a face-to-face meeting, the event usually starts in a flurry of business cards being handed out. Imagine going to a site and, if you wanted to be linked with them, you initiate a electronic business card exchange with one click. You have their link that will automatically appear on your site when they approve yours. A optimal one-to-one ratio is maintain and the link-love is preserved. Just a thought ...

There is a site like that. It is called bl.ast.com

I wrote about it yesterday on my blog The Wired Kayaker.

Not sure if the question was rhetorical but answered it anyway.

Thanks, Drew! I just visited bl.ast.com and it looks promising.

What I was thinking about didn't involve any middle-men sites. Just a quick and easy exchange between two webmasters. Of course, my idea is half-baked so there are probably web 2.0 solutions already in place that do such an exchange. I'll clarify this concept as I put more thought into it, ok?
