In The End, I Saw The Rider On A Terrible Horse. His name was "Insurance Salesman"

Share
So ... people are worried that banks are going to stop lending them the money that these same people put in banks in the first place. Or so the news constantly reminds us lately. On this scary but unsubstantiated tidbit of information, investors are selling their stocks to put the money under the mattress and in jars that will be buried in the backyard. The only investment vehicle that looks good for a change is whole life insurance. Apparently, all this doom-and-gloom, end-of-the-world news has caused the demand for life insurance quotes to skyrocket. Insurance salesmen (and women) have been moved from the ranks of the Maytag repairmen into people in demand. Maybe this is the sign of the end times. I imagine we can expect reports of frosty weather descending upon the netherworld any day now.

Picking Stocks

You can take action and learn from your mistakes. But this tends to be an expensive and timely method. Or you can learn from those who have figured out the best way to do what you want to do. As I'm getting more into the financial world of the stock market, my goal is to have the best performing stocks in my portfolio. Yet, left to my own selections, I've had better success picking my nose than I have had with picking stocks. So I'm looking into what others are doing. There are a lot of recommendations out there! So to find out who knows what, I've found Tradermatch.com which gives Traders Ratings on its members. This site has very helpful and insightful as I watch the stock picks of various members against the actual performance of those stocks. Tradermatch makes good use of Yahoo! Finance too. I was able to search on a stock that interested me and get its "Intraday Chart" directly in the site. All-in-all, I think I have found a very useful (and soon-to-be profitable) site for my finances.

One of the World's Best Investor for the Private Citizen

David Swensen got his Ph.D in economics from Yale and then spent five years on Wall Street. Twenty one years ago, he returned to Yale to run their endowment program and what he did with it is nothing short of phenomenal. He has averaged a 16% return over those 21 years! NPR.org did an article on him and included tips from his book, Unconventional Success, which is full of advice for the average investor. Worth reading!!!
